Nikon F Highspeed
Nippon Kogaku built three different versions of the Nikon F Highspeed Camera.
The first two require that the mirror be locked up, and are fitted with an overlarge mirror lock-up knob.
They are equipped with a special prism, with a accessory shoe, and shoe mounted finder for 135, 180,
200 and 300 focal lengths. The first version was released for the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics, was
rated up to 7 FPS. The second version was released for the 1974 Montreal Olympics, had F2
cosmetics, and ran at 9FPS.
A final version was built employing a pellicle mirror, and would run up to 10FPS with through the lens
viewing.
All of these Highspeed cameras are rare and highly sought after by collectors.
